Moving panels I would not be afraid. I made (as a summer job) one archive building, where the panels weighing several tonnes. Thanks to a well-made rails was very easy to move them. Perhaps if the walls moved automatically, it would be more bearable. And I also guess that the concept is fine just for a single person flat.
