A Tiny Apartment Transforms into 24 Rooms

In Hong Kong, because of the space, apartments are small and expensive. Gary Chang, an architect, decided to design a 344 sq. ft. apartment to be able to change into 24 different designs, all by just sliding panels and walls. He calls this the “Domestic Transformer.”

I find this concpet quite fascinating, but I guess that I could not live in such flat… it would be quite a pain in the side after some time to be always (carefully) moving the walls any time I want to “go” to some other room. Perhaps if the walls moved automatically, it would be more bearable. And I also guess that the concept is fine just for a single person flat.

I also think it’s just an apartment for one person.

Moving panels I would not be afraid. I made (as a summer job) one archive building, where the panels weighing several tonnes. Thanks to a well-made rails was very easy to move them.
