Debian has sixteen years ago today. Debian was announced on 16 August 1993 by Ian Murdock. It is one of the most popular GNU/Linux operation systems Known for strict adherence to Unix and free software philisophies, along with tons of software packages and supports 11 computer architectures. The latest stable release is Lenny. Debian also became the basis for the Ubuntu Linux distribution.
